Question:

Just wondering if you have any tips regarding how best to fly to Iran without forking out loads of cash. We are hoping to travel about 16th - 26th October 2010 and have a little (but not much) flexibility on dates. We'd be quite happy to fly to another Iranian airport or even somewhere outside Iran as long as it's not too far away, travelling in overland or on separate flights. Have considered Istanbul (very cheap flights) and then train but it will eat too much time into our trip since the train takes 72hrs. Have also considered flying to Eastern Turkey and getting the train, which is cheapish but the international train doesn't match up closely with the dates we want.
