I have Swedish passport, my wife australian passport. We have applied for a tourist visa, through the MFA website. It has been a week now, still no confirmation email. Do you know if MFA does reply at all? How long does it take to receive the pre-approval code? HOW does the email from MFA look like?? Any help??

It is quite common and usually the evisa website doesn’t answer the requests. That is possible to get a VOA without any response from that website. So just fly to Iran and get a 30-day on arrival visa at the airport. You can collect your visa against offering your passport, a passport-size photo and about10-150€(depends on the nationality) to the staff at the airport.
You can either fill in the visa form onIran visa application. It takes about 3-7 working days to get your reference number and two working days to collect your visa at the embassy by direct referral or one working week by posting the docs to the embassy. You can pay the visa fee in cash in Iran.
