Question:
I'm trying to understand if I can add Kermanshah – Kangavar – Hamadan leg to my trip and would appreciate any advice on how many days it might require. Also, which city would be the best to stay in? Besides, I’m torn between two possibilities of adding them on the route – either from Tehran or from Ahvaz. Any tips which is better in terms of timing and transportation would be also highly appreciated.
Answer:
It is better to go to Hamadan from Tehran, stay a night there. Then en route to Kermanshah visit Kangavar. Stay overnight in Kermanshah and the next day visit Kermanshah. Then drive to Susa and Ahvaz. Hamadan needs 2 days to cover the sightseeing and you may add one day to visit Alisadr cave also, allocate 1 day to Kangavar and 1 day Kermanshah. It is good to have 2 nights in Ahvaz and do excursions to Susa, Choghzanbil and Shushtar to visit some of the amazing monuments of Iran and UNESCO world heritage sites.
