Question:
I am a british citizen living in the uk and my fiancee is iranian living in iran (me female him male) I was there in july 09 and converted to become muslim and became his siegh for 50 years. These are some facts I already know about from the mfa and the british embassy in iran.... once I am married I become an iranian citizen so I should apply for a new birth certificate and register the marriage etc my british passport will be taken, sent to the british embassy in Tehran and cancelled. I can either wait till I receive my iranian passport and come back home with a british visa in it or apply for my new british passport while in iran if I don't want to wait till I come home to apply. (I had to check I would get a new passport was worried I would only have the iranian one). Anyway both these options are going to take long I am sure and my tourist visa is only for 30 days. SO my Question is does anyone know after I am married can I come back home before applying for my new birth certificate and registering the marriage?
Answer:
According to a new rule beside going through the legal procedures for marriage in Iran, you should also annouce your marriage to the governership of the province. They wont do anything to cancell your British visa anyway.
