Question:

I need to receive a parcel from İstanbul to Tehran, I could wait up to one month to collect it and it would be sent to a safe address (hotel or private). Any experience about sending parcels to İran? Reliable? DHL is so expensive... Any other way?

Answer:

Never send money or very valuable items to Iran by mail. Only use 'REGISTERED AIR MAIL' to ship important packages (like documents). It doesn’t have to be 'express mail' but it must be registered.
Make sure to keep the registered mail receipt with the long number on it. This is very important because it is almost certainly needed to find the package at a local PO in Iran.  
By the way, the parcel should arrive in Iran in no more than 8-12 working days. If it doesn’t arrive by then, you can call the post office in Iran to look for it.
It would be expensive to ship a 2-3kg package with registered air mail, around $20 or more.
