Question:
I'm Belgian and currently applying for a tourist visa for Iran through www.uppersia.com but I have some questions: I was wondering if having a host is an advantage to getting a visa for Iran? Will the MFA do additional research on the relationship to the host? Can you put the address of your host on the itinerary instead of a hotel?
Answer:
If you want anyone else acts as your host to obtain your visa to Iran, your host should either go to the ministry of foreign affairs and apply for your visa. Or s/he can ask www.uppersia.com to apply for the visa on his/her behalf indicating that s/he is your main host. The second alternative is preferred because the travel agents are better familiar with the procedures and are better in contact with the MFA.
Having a third party host makes no difference in the duration of securing visa reference number since a travel agent acts as a host as well.
