I am a solo traveller on my way to Iran and was wondering if you have any advice on bringing a laptop/iPod? With western music being banned in Iran, is there any issue with having it on your iPod as a westerner? Also, I know they can go as far as searching on your laptop for illegal content and I'll be sure it is free of porn and South Park, but are there any other things I should particularly avoid?

Bringing laptop or ipod makes no problem and no one will search it inside. But try not to have anything sensitive in it.
In general there is no problem with music; people here listen to the western music as well as the Persian music. It is also a good idea to listen to some Persian classical works of the great artists such as Mr. Shajariyan or Nazeri.
